Our odour vent filters come in standard sizes, 50/65/100/150 and 300mm, with each filter designed to slip over your existing pipe work. They have been designed to remove hydrogen sulphide gas (H2S), Mercaptans and VOCs removal through adsorption and treatment processes when installed and operated in accordance with product specifications. Carbon Filtration Solutions recommends odour filters for systems such as household sanitary, holding tanks, vent stacks, pump stations, septic tanks, aerated wastewater treatment plants, grease traps, grey water treatment, holding tank confined spaces, sewer pipelines, sludge holding tanks and on-site treatment plants.
Applications:
Odour vent filters operate by adsorbing and retaining chemical compounds, which may undergo chemical conversion and/or biological treatment. They provide a means of odour management by removing odours in waste air streams. Gases may contain toxic and odour compounds, including hydrogen sulphide gas, acidic gases, volatile organic compounds, and hydrocarbons. Different carbons can be added to our odour vent filters.
Technology background:
Carbon Filtration Solutions odour vent filters use a combination of 2 different coal-base or coconut base activated carbons in 3/4mm pelletised carbon media, for the treatment of waste airstreams containing noxious gases.
50mm Odour Vent Filter
Designed to be used in domestic situations on house toilets or septic vents, grease traps, overflow tanks, holding tanks, sump air vents, sewer lines and commercial premises where odours are a problem.
Our 50mm vent filter is designed for passive or ambient airflow and is not suitable for applications where blowers or fans push or force air. The longevity of the filter’s effectiveness depends on the amount of gases passing through the carbon bed.
Filter media cartridges:
All odour vent filters are supplied with a replaceable cartridge installed that can easily be changed by operators when the activated carbon cartridge is exhausted.
Carbon Filtration Solutions filter media cartridges are designed to:
65mm Odour Vent Filter
Designed to be used in domestic situations on house toilets or septic vents, grease traps, overflow tanks, holding tanks, sump air vents, sewer lines and commercial premises where odours are a problem.
Our 65mm vent filter is designed for passive or ambient airflow and is not suitable for applications where blowers or fans push or force air. The longevity of the filter’s effectiveness depends on the number of gases passing through the carbon bed.
Filter media cartridges:
All odour vent filters are supplied with a replaceable cartridge installed that can easily be changed by operators when the activated carbon cartridge is exhausted.
Carbon Filtration Solutions filter media cartridges are designed to:
100mm Odour Vent Filter
Designed for use in vent stacks, pump stations, holding tanks and sump air vents, or sewer lines, Suited for 100mm connection.
Our vent filters are designed for passive or ambient airflow and are not suitable for applications where blowers or fans push or force air.
150mm Odour Vent Filter
This filter is very versatile and can be used on vent stacks, small pump stations, holding tanks, venting pipes, and grease traps. Great for H2S or VOCs removal. The longevity of the filter’s effectiveness depends on the amount of gases passing through the carbon bed. Best used for passive or ambient air flow but can be connected to a small blower if required.
- Suitable for emission flow rates up to 9L/s
- The spent cartridge can be disposed of in a landfill
- Inspection frequency every 6 months
- Media replacement: 12-14 months
- Dimensions: 325H x 165mmW, (allow 30mm extra width for hat)
- Weight: 2.6Kg
Filter media cartridges:
All odour vent filters are supplied with a replaceable cartridge installed that can easily be changed by operators when the activated carbon cartridge is exhausted.
Carbon Filtration Solutions filter media cartridges are designed to:
100/300mm Odour Vent Filter
Designed to be used at sites where there is a medium to high airflow rate. Commonly used on vent stacks, pump stations, sewer lines, overflow tanks, holding tanks or confined spaces where odours are a problem. Best used for ambient airflow but can be connected to a small blower if required. They feature 2 disposable filter cells containing up to 6 kg of activated impregnated carbon. The longevity of the filter’s effectiveness depends on the amount of gases passing through the carbon bed.
300mm Odour Vent Filter
Designed to be used at sites where there is a medium to high airflow rate. Commonly used on vent stacks, pump stations, sewer lines, overflow tanks, holding tanks or confined spaces where odours are a problem. Best used for ambient airflow but can be connected to a small blower if required. They feature 2 disposable filter cells containing up to 6 Kg of activated impregnated carbon. The longevity of the filter’s effectiveness depends on the amount of gases passing through the carbon bed.
Commissioning and testing:
It is not possible to conduct treatment performance tests on the odour vent filters prior to installation as each site will have unique and varying contaminant concentrations, flow rates and flow characteristics.
It is recommended following installation, to conduct inlet and outlet hydrogen sulphide gas and air flow rate monitoring over a period of four weeks to establish gas levels from the source and to determine the odour filters treatment efficiency under those conditions.
Once the filter is saturated replacement of the activated carbon cartridge are readily available from CARBON FILTRATION SOLUTIONS PTY LTD
